I'm currently spending most of my professional energy on making it harder for bioterrorists — and easier for scientists — to buy synthetic DNA online (it's crazy that we haven't solved this yet). I'd consider this a small but meaningful step towards making pandemics history.

I write about biosecurity and philanthropic craft; if I wrote more, it'd be about AI, writing craft, meditation, grief, gender, and film.
